SIZE: Pavement ants are about 2.5mm to 3mm long.
DESCRIPTION: Pavement ants are a brown to light brown with black appendages lighter than rest of the body and have parallel lines on the head and thorax.
BEHAVIOR: Pavement ants like to feed on a variety of foods such as sweets, including nectar, sugar, syrups and fruits which are some of their favorites as well as grease, dead insects and small seeds. Pavement ants will forage for these foods by invading buildings and retreat back to their nests. Where can pavement ants be found? – They can be found under stones, near curbs, cracks and crevices found in the pavement, indoors in walls, and even underneath flooring.
